Sustainable Prospects - Work in Progress Portfolio
This is my current work based on Loch Cill Chriosd on the Isle of Skye.

The Loch acts as a metaphor for my personal thoughts ranging from the dark and menacing to the feelings of clarity and light as I battle to reconcile the daemons of my past

The density of the grasses reflect the many possible pathways through life and the choice I have made on my personal journey

There is chaos and disorder in the Loch reflecting my memories and my attempts to reconcile myself with the images in my mind

The light and dark tones of the reeds represent my differences in mood reflecting hope and helplessness in coming to terms with my memories

The reeds' fronds resemble 'candles in the wind' demonstrating their vitality, permanency and resilience

The dark reflections of the menacing Cuillin are juxtaposed by the sense of light and tranquility in the reflected sky

As I gaze at the reflections on the Loch it is like looking through a dark glass - we can only glimpse at reality but never know what is real

At times I am enveloped by a sense of calm and serenity as I come to terms with my ghosts and daemons

Life goes on as the swirling waters find their pathways around the stone as I have done in reconciling the images of my early photographic work

Life sometimes hangs by a thread as we emerge from the mist of our minds to find clarity and direction

The stark reflections of autumnal reeds represent the rich tapestry of life and the cacophony of experiences we encounter and respond to

An ever changing circle of life. Sometimes the circle breaks and plunges us into dark places and memories

Turbulent times are represented in the strength and resilience of the reeds and my similar response to blocking out bad memories

Nature and life's geometry - trying to find our own personal path through the options and challenges we encounter

One frond, one life - it is time to make the most of it!

There is much hope in the darkness of our minds and scenes from the Loch often leave me with a positive spirit

Sometimes my thoughts and my world seem upside down
